OUR STORY

Mother's Grace Animal Sanctuary is located on 40 acres in rural Mississippi. We are a cage less, no kill, forever home and occasionally an adoption center.  The Sanctuary is mostly wooded, with a pasture, on a creek with multiple cat structures/shed and cat caves.  The official “cat house” is a 1800 sq. foot air controlled house with separate rooms for sunroom, living room, ICU and quarantine room, hospice room and “shady pines” the retirement center for elderly babies who like a quieter environment.

Most of our babies are “not adoptable” by majority standards. They may have lost an eye or a leg. They may require special medication or treatments daily. We have cats on insulin, daily meds, and asthma nebulizer treatments. The important fact is they are happy, free, safe and loved. They get a “hot meal” daily and access to quality dry food all day. Most of our babies are cats, a few dogs and one fainting goat with arthritis named Herbert. And yes, he faints when startled------ but not very often!

Barbara Boss is a retired nursing professor/nurse practitioner.

Linda Brewer is a nurse practitioner and volunteer fire fighter.

Both have had a life-long love of animals.  The increasing number of animals necessitated a move to the country in 1992. At our CPA’s insistence, we officially started the Sanctuary in 2007.

“Mother’s Grace Sanctuary cares for so many unadoptable, often very ill animals. At Mother’s Grace they offer their creatures medical care, shelter, food, sunshine, and the feel of grass beneath their feet. More importantly, they provide compassion and the opportunity for life. Unlike many animal “rescue” operations, Mother’s Grace serves as a true sanctuary and a place of refuge and safety."

-Sandra Perry, RN, MSN

"If I could say that there is a heaven that animals go to, this is Mother's Grace Sanctuary. I have never seen a more special and loving, sacred place where animals reside. To see these animals in their natural enviroment, brings so much joy to my heart. The care that is taken for each and every little critter is absolutey humbling! Both me and my family will always cherish such a safe haven for all beings!"
